Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Training

Should you join a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training class? Yes, you should. There are a plenty of reasons why you should train yourself at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Let’s find out more about them.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a Terrific Workout…

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training is not easy at all – it works you to the bone. In fact, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is essentially a high intensity interval training activity. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training begins with a warm-up which includes jogging, pushups, burpees, skipping, stretching and crunches. Even the warm up in Jiu Jitsu is an intense activity.

Next, you learn new techniques, and spend around half-an-hour sparring with a partner. In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training, you spar with your partner with full intensity. There are noBrazilian Jiu Jitsu Training punches allowed and no kicks either, so the idea is to get your opponent to tap out using a choke or a joint lock without getting hurt yourself or hurting your training partner.

This means around 10 rounds of exhausting physical activity separated by a rest period of just 30 seconds. Most people push themselves to the limit during the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training. Of course, you want to have an edge over your training partner or opponent, which is why you will give it everything.

Size Does Not Matter!

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is great for smaller men and women as most fights end up on the ground, which takes away the height advantage their opponent may have over them. The first thing to do is to take your opponent down, after that you can work your submission holds, chokes and so on. This gives a lot of confidence to men and women who are not blessed with height or a big body.

You will Learn a Solid Self-Defense Technique

While Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training gives you a perfect workout, it does something equally important – it gives you solid self-defense skills. Yes, you will get a great workout and build a great body by lifting weights as well. But bigger muscles don’t necessarily make you a fighter. To be a fighter, and to be prepared for any situation – such as a mugging in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Trainingstreet or a terrorist attack in a mall or a multiplex, you will have to learn self-defense techniques. That’s what you learn from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a very practical martial art. It will teach you how to protect yourself in a real fight and hit back to pulverize your opponent.

Of course, each one of us hopes that we are never drawn into a situation when we find ourselves relying upon our Jiu Jitsu skills for survival, but when such an occasion does arise, you should be ready. But one thing is for sure, you will never be scared when you venture out into the night if you have mastered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brings Out the Animal in You!

As much as we are civilized human beings, there is a certain wild nature that runs through each of us. Society teaches us to clamp down on this wild, almost primal nature. But it does require an outlet, otherwise it ends up eating us from the inside. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or for that matter any unarmed combat, provides an outlet for the beast that lies within each of us. We all have a manly urge to fight another man and take him down. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu helps us do that in a safe and healthy way. It is all about imposing your will over an opponent and forcing him to tap out – if you fail to do that, you will end up tapping out yourself. It’s as simple as that! Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a highly competitive sport and brings out the warrior in you.

We hope we have given you enough reasons to join a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training class ASAP. So you have no excuse left!

Sounds cool. Just wondering if someone were to take this on part time, how long would it take to get up and going? Also, can Bazalian jiu jitsu be used as a casual cardio training instead? I have always thought jiu jitsu is a Korean thing, guess I was wrong! haha
